The Portuguese ultra-cyclist Tiago Cardoso has been the protagonist of what we have considered to date as the best event in the 24-hour “single speed” bicycle modality. We say this because in the same event the same athlete registered several record marks. The incipient cycling modality “single speed”, which is growing exponentially among lovers of this sport, consists of reducing the bicycle to its purest essence, without elements distracting from its primary function. It is a bicycle that does not have a gearshift system, which would be the closest thing to the first bicycle we had in childhood. To the record of Tiago Cardoso, already epic in itself, (it is not within the reach of anyone to stay 24 hours on a bicycle at a competitive level) it would be necessary to add an epic bonus if possible for having managed to carry out a feat of this type in…

September 2009 25hrs 10min Official world record (dive time 27 hrs ) On September 19th, 2009, after many hours of training and planning, I finally entered the water at 8.00am to begin my attempt at breaking the standing record for the longest warm open water sea dive. In order to break the previous record, I needed to be at a depth of no less than 10m and could not surface for any reason during the dive, unless of course if the dive was aborted. Apart from the obvious stress of spending time in the open sea conditions, other important obstacles needed to be overcome. A number of these include eating, drinking, going to the toilet, as well as coping with the water temperature both during day and night. Although this only varied by a few degrees the change in temperature was nonetheless incredibly noticed. On Sunday 20th September, 25 hours…

Since the Natchez Trace Parkway is not long enough to break the record on alone, we started in Clarksville, Tennessee and traveled mostly back roads until we got to the Natchez Trace Parkway. Once the path was set we developed a schedule along with the dates of March 1st through March 4th, 2014 so people could join us if they wanted. We then obtained a chase vehicle to run a camera…
